i am sick

12.21.2004 — 6 Comments

Well, it finally happened- until last night I had a three-plus-years record of not “throwing up”.

At approximately 5:30AM, I literally hugged my porcelain friend. Jess was awesome! She set up the couch for me with 100-blankets, lined a trash can, and even stood by me during the “next episode”.

I have married the most caring woman ever!

Please pray for this sick guy today – I have WAY too much work to do today & tomorrow to be “attached” to my porcelain friend!

And for goodness sake, STAY AWAY FROM EL ARRIERO’S!

“Go Team: 101 Ideas to Energize Youth Ministry Volunteers” by Kurt Johnson and Katie Edwards

This book came in the mail this afternoon from the Spiritual Formations Department of the Wesleyan Church.

At first glance, it looks like a winner for sure! It really does have 101 ideas in it outlining ways to celebrate the volunteers that work in youth ministry. As with most youth ministry books that come out of the Saddleback Church – this one is full of “humor in the margin” – something I love to see and read. The book is littered with “Top 5 Signs” of different things and quotes from volunteers. One Top 5 Sign:

The Top 5 Signs a Volunteer May Not Need Any Extra Encouragement:
5. The town already holds a parade in her honor every year.
4. Students in your youth group are wearing shirts with his picture on the front.
3. He has his own action figure at Toys”R”Us.
2. The pphrase “What Would Jesus Do?” has been replaced by “What Would Sue Do?”
1. CNN reports that his image is being added to Mount Rushmore.

Cheesy-funny. That’s what I’m all about.

Have you seen the redeigned www.wesleyan.org website yet?

More specifically – the Spiritual Formation website has been created! (of COURSE I saw a pre-released version of this site, but that’s cuz Kory is my brother!)

Had lunch with my buddy Craig today. He met me at El Arriero’s. Love that place.

Last night the call came in at 11:30 – and I was off to the hospital. I returned from an emergency room visit by 1AM.

Mrs. Hatfield was her name and she wen’t home to be with the Lord shortly after my second visit this morning.

The family has asked me to do the funeral this weekend, and I am honored to do so.

Jess & I will still be planning to leave here on Thursday morning for S. Carolina!

Thanks in advance for prayer as I plan this funeral service.

Spent the day with my buddy Craig today. We at lunch at Gordy’s, played some arcade pinball, ran around to some Warsaw stores and then headed back to his place for some relaxing.

Relaxing: sitting in front of a big screen watching Christian Music Videos, football, basketball, and anything else we could find!

After enough relaxing we hit up the home-gym downstairs. That’s right folks, stevansheets.com did a little weight lifting, punching-bag punching, and treadmill running! Good times.

Tonight I got stumped by a nasty little web problem on one of our Underfire Solutions sites (www.crossingtheglobe.com). It was really starting to bug me and I thought for sure I was going to have to delete what I had installed and start over again, but thankfully after almost an hour of troubleshooting, I figured out the problem and had it fixed. Sometimes websites can be pretty nasty to work on. Other times they can be as fun as stevansheets.com!

By the way – if anyone uses MSN Messenger, I can be found online (sometimes) – just look me up – stevan@stevansheets.com!
