My buddy Mike Foster blogged this powerful reminder today on the same day I watched the following video from NewSpring.

Both are well-worth your time.

Mike’s blog post.

What a treat it was to wake up to a 5AM phone call alerting us to the fact that there would be no school today due to the snowstorm!

We went back to bed for a couple hours not expecting the snow to be ‘as bad as they said it could be’, but we were all pleasantly surprised that we did have about four inches of wonderful, pack-able, playable snow!

After a spontaneous pancake-and-egg breakfast we bundled up and headed out!

A snowman and snow fort were our biggest priorities and I’m please to announce we accomplished both!

Check out our highlight video from today’s epic adventure:

Everyone’s been sharing this Duracell commercial featuring NFL’s Derrick Coleman – the hearing-impaired running back for the Seattle Seahawks.

If you’ll take the 60-seconds needed to watch it, you’ll know why –

Here’s Coleman’s narration from the commercial:

They told me it couldn’t be done
That I was a lost cause
I was picked on
And picked last
Coaches didn’t know how to talk to me
They gave up on me
Told me I should just quit
They didn’t call my name
Told me it was over
But I’ve been deaf since I was three
So I didn’t listen
And now I’m here
With a lot of fans and the NFL cheering me on
And I can hear them all

I just watched this video-testimony on Perry Noble’s blog and was nearly moved to tears (did I just admit that?)

What a powerful testimony this is of life-change that is possible with complete surrender to God!

Thanks to NewSpring Church for creating this beautiful video! And thanks to Jason & Jennifer for being willing to share their story with all of us!

Jennifer’s quote sums it up: “No situation is hopeless, nothing is too big for God.”

I love that!

I’m in Indianapolis this week for the FUEL youth pastor’s conference. Speaking this week is Pastor Dave Bever. He’s pastor of the New City Church in Cleveland and has become a great friend of mine over the past few years.
FUEL has about 150 youth pastors gathered for renewal, retooling, and refreshing. I’m honored to have been able to help plan and carry out this event! I love that the Wesleyan denomination values our youth pastors enough to pull together an event like this to train and refresh our youth leaders!
The following video comes from a pre-session sound check.
