Boys vs. Girls

Author Stevan    Category General     Tags

Why is it that when you play a game and you team up the boys versus the girls, things can get pretty ugly?

Tonight the game was “bid euchre”. Dad Garrett, Rich, and me played against Mom Garrett, Jaymie, and Jess.

Game 1:
Guys are up 47 to negative-10 in a game to 50. Girls come back and stomp us 50 to 15.

Game 2:
Guys beat the girls in just 4 hands with a whopping 52 to negative-10.

Game 3:
The girls mentioned that we should play “best out of three”. We again stomped them 59 to negative-23.

Before the three hands of euchre, Dad Garrett served up an amazing home-cooked meal. We had italian sausage and pork roast with all the sides. Two salads, potatoes, and some of the best home-grown bbq sauce I’ve ever had.

What a night it was.

The drive home with Jess proved to be quite the sing-a-long to try and keep us awake WAY past our normal bedtimes.

Tomorrow morning I’m off to the church by 7AM. We have a “work-day” scheduled and there is a pretty big list of “to-do” items! I’m curious to see how many “faithful workers” show up tomorrow morning at that hour to work on the church!

I wonder if someone would send me the recipe for the BBQ sauce. I just found a great one myself, but would like to compare. Always looking for good sauce recipes.

Thanks for coming to Bluffton last evening. I loved the family fun we had and the food!
    Love ya bunches!

Aunt Bonnie, I will make sure Scott posts his recipe for you. I really do cook too, but he comes up with some of his own really great recipes, and last evening he suprised us all with a great meal that he worked on all day while I was at work. What a great husband he is.

Oh, and Stevan thank you to you, Jess, Rich and Jaymie for cleaning up the dishes after our meal. We (Scott and I) didn’t go and “make out” like you four young ones told us to do while you were cleaning up, but we did enjoy sitting on the swing and being together, just thinking about how happy we were to have such a wonderful family. It was a great night. Thank you!

    Okay, I’m really done now!

For the record I would just like to say that the losers of the first game were supposed to serve the winners dessert. And even though the lovely, talented women won that game we still served our wonderful, yet losing, husbands pie. This was partially because we love them so much and felt sorry for beating them oh so terribly, but mainly because we feared the thought of them serving us pie (prehaps in the face, if you get my drift.), especially after losing so badly!! But when you guys won, you weren’t so gracious! So all I have to say is enjoy the spoils of the vistory while it lasts boys cause we women are gonna dominate you next time! Maybe you should practice up while you’re at it!

You tell ‘em, Jaymie! They gloated so much I’m surprised their heads could fit into the car for the way home. At least we can say we’ve won with grace. :-) WE WILL kick their tails next time, though!
