MOVIE REVIEW: Shooter (R)

movie.jpgTonight Jess and I “rented” our first ‘Movie on Demand’!

We hit up channel 1000 and browsed the Blockbuster-style listing of movies that were available at the touch of the “purchase” button. Three-dollars and ninety-five cents later we were watching the opening minutes of “Shooter”. It was pretty late to be starting a movie, so we agreed on Shooter because we figured it was sure to keep us awake and interested!

We were right.

Mark Wahlberg may have played his best role yet in my opinion in this movie. The action was non-stop, the plot was thick and twisty, and the explosions just kept coming!

Negatively, the f-word was a favorite expletive of most of the actors – it was shocking to hear it used so casually. I don’t understand that – surely MOST American’s don’t talk that way, do they?

The underlying corrupt-government plot is one that entertains but continues to make me uncomfortable. If I think too long about plots like this having any validity it makes me nervous – so I tend to be entertained and stop thinking about it instantly!

stevansheets.com gives ‘Shooter’ a 4.5 out of 5 for keeping me awake this evening with enough explosions and gunfire to keep my wild-at-heart heart beating faster-than-normal!

  1. Seems the “f” word frequents the mouth of Walberg for some reason. Any film I have seen from him this is flying evey 2 seconds. Now, we need to hear a review of “Becoming Jane”! :)

  2. I do agree with you Heather!

  3. unfortunately, that is the word that alot people use frequently. living in the city, i’ll hear it randomly from people just walking down the street. and so do the kids. it’s lovely.

  4. Umm..I’d love to be able to provide you with an opportunity to review “Becoming Jane” my love!

“Shooter” was a great movie–though, he didn’t kiss the girl which was really surprising!

  5. I watched Shooter on a plane to Mexico City this summer. It certainly kept my attention on an otherwise mundane flight.
