Ship First Wesleyan’s Trunk or Treat 2011

Video slideshow of our Trunk or Treat event that we held on Halloween night earlier this week:

The event was incredible. We had 10-vehicles and 24-volunteers. Together we served at least 125 costumed children from our community. We decided this year to hold the event at a local bank (Sovereign Bank in Shippensburg) and got their permission to setup in their parking lot. This “neutral” location worked beautifully. We had a steady stream of people for the entire two hours.

As a part of the event, we also setup a “photo backdrop” and offered to take photos of families and individuals in return for their email address – so that we could send them their photo after the event! More than 50 families took us up on this offer and we’re already hearing back responses of gratefulness for the event AND the the digital photo!

I’m already brainstorming how to do things bigger and better next year as we embrace this as an opportunity to LOVE SHIPPENSBURG!

An example of the finished photograph we sent out to our 50+ families who allowed us to take their photo:

A great little Christian alternative to the “trick or treat”
